Perhaps the last thing you’d expect coming out of a recording studio best known for producing rock ‘n roll artists is a children’s animated film.

But this new production, “Dwegons and Leprechauns,” is one of the pet projects of Marshall Block, president of Real II Reel Productions in Tyrone Township, a full-service recording studio.

The Tri-County Times recently made a visit to Real II Reel's Fenton, MI studio, interviewing owner and producer, Marshall Block, and artists Meaghan Penning and Surround the Bear's Daniel Ahern.In addition to the interviews, reporter Tim Jagielo, also witnessed some live recording and included some of the interactions between the producer and the artists.

Jon Norton from Resource Sound in the UK visited Real II Reel this May. Jon is our strategic partner for placing our music in major motion pictures and television. We made certain to show Jon a good time with a visit to The Motown Museum followed by dinner at Lellis On The Green in Farmington, Michigan.

As an added surprise, Real II Reel's co-founder 21 years ago, Ray Steinberg, went with us to the Motown Museum. Ray's band, The Reflections had a MONSTER HIT song in the 60's called "Just Like Romeo and Juliet". As an alumnus of Motown, Ray added his many personal memories to the 30 or so visitors taking the guided tour that day.

He was given a "standing ovation" by all of the visitors and everyone felt very special to have Ray with us. We also created some "new" European dance music. Jon spent three days at the studio and a good time was certainly had by all.
